<strong>The Process Behind This Project</strong> This project was all about transforming a space into a polished, functional, and inviting area, combining careful planning with meticulous execution. The journey of this project can be broken down into several key phases, each contributing to the final stunning outcome. <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-9048" src="https://jacksgardenservices.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/WhatsApp-Image-2024-10-10-at-08.17.04-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. <strong>Excavation and Preparation</strong></h3> We began by digging everything out, clearing the area to ensure we had a clean slate to work with. Once the space was ready, I carefully placed wooden sleepers to help contain the materials and ensure the ground would stay level. This step set the foundation for the entire project, guaranteeing that the site would remain balanced and secure. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. <strong>Levelling and Weed Control</strong></h3> Next, we leveled the ground to create a smooth surface for the rest of the work. After achieving the desired level, we laid down a protective membrane to prevent tree roots from pushing through in the future. This layer was essential for maintaining the integrity of the surface long term, especially in outdoor environments. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. <strong>Base Installation and Solidification</strong></h3> Once the membrane was in place, we added a layer of Type One material. This was thoroughly compacted to ensure the base was solid and stable. A well-compacted base provides a strong foundation for the rest of the project and prevents future shifting or settling. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. <strong>Laying Decorative Stones</strong></h3> Following this, we applied a specific type of stone. This not only improved the appearance but also helped to manage moisture, preventing the area from becoming damp or accumulating water. These stones add both functionality and aesthetic value to the space. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">5. <strong>Tile Installation</strong></h3> We then moved on to laying tiles with cement, ensuring they were precisely aligned and secured. To finish off the tiling, we used filler to close the joints, creating a seamless, clean surface. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">6. <strong>Artificial Grass Installation</strong></h3> For the next phase, we prepared the area for the artificial grass by compacting Type One material again, followed by a layer of chippings to perfect the level. After ensuring everything was smooth and secure, we added a layer of sand, which was also compacted. This ensures a soft, even surface that is safe for walking and prevents any uneven spots. Then, we installed the artificial grass itself, using silicone to ensure it stays in place and doesn’t shift over time. This step brings a lush, vibrant look to the space, providing the appearance of natural grass with the convenience of low maintenance. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">7. <strong>Finishing Touches and Clean-Up</strong></h3> Once the grass was securely in place, we gave the entire area a thorough clean-up. I removed all debris and materials, leaving the space spotless and ready to enjoy. The result was a pristine, inviting area that the client could immediately start using, without any additional work needed. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Project Location: Emerson Green, BS167EF</h3> This project took place in Emerson Green, BS167EF, and I’m proud to say that we left the space looking immaculate. Every detail, from the initial excavation to the final cleanup, was executed with precision and care, ensuring the highest quality results for the client.
